Annual Salary Range: $55,000-$60,000 base plus commission

Position Overview: We are seeking an engaged and growth-minded Executive Director to lead our organization in achieving its mission and strategic objectives. This role is highly independent as the sole employee of the organization, reporting directly to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director will be responsible for both providing strategic leadership and executing day-to-day operations, which involves the responsibilities listed below:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and execute strategic plans in alignment with the organization's mission and the board’s goals.

• Provide visionary leadership to drive innovation and growth opportunities.

• Identify emerging trends and opportunities in the entrepreneurship landscape and adapt organizational strategies accordingly.

2. Operations Management:

• Oversee all aspects of organizational operations, including budgeting, event planning, marketing, board management, and administrative functions.

3. Stakeholder Engagement:

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including entrepreneurs, investors, corporate partners, government agencies, and community organizations.

• Meet with potential member leads and follow through to close.

• Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for the organization, representing Venture Club of Indiana at public and private events.

4. Program Development and Management:

• Lead the development and implementation of monthly events.  

• Collaborate with the Program Chair to lead and execute the annual Innovation Showcase pitch competition fundraiser.

• Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

5. Partnership Development:

• Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance the organization's reach and impact.

• Collaborate with external partners to co-create initiatives and leverage resources for mutual benefit.

• Seek, negotiate, and manage partnerships, sponsorship agreements, and funding opportunities.

6. Board Relations:

• Work closely with the Board of Directors to provide regular updates, seek input on strategic decisions, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

• Support the Board in governance matters, including board meeting management, board recruitment, onboarding, and committee management.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated track record of strategic thinking, leadership, and program management.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.

• Experience with event planning and program management is preferred.

• Ability to build and maintain effective, collaborative partnerships.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving innovation and fostering economic growth.

• Comfortable with membership sales and raising sponsorship.

• Motivated self-starter.
