Almera Mahmood appointed executive director of Venture Club of Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 23, 2025) The Venture Club of Indiana proudly announces the appointment of Almera Mahmood as its new executive director. With nearly two decades of financial leadership across Fortune 500 companies, high-growth startups, and advisory firms, Mahmood brings a rare blend of strategic vision, financial expertise, and entrepreneurial empathy to Indiana’s innovation ecosystem.

The Venture Club, a catalyst for connecting investors across the state, continues to expand its mission under Mahmood's leadership by connecting Indiana’s venture capital investors, lowering barriers to entry and fostering opportunity for the state's most ambitious entrepreneurs.

“I’ve lived on both sides of the table," said Almera Mahmood. "As a finance executive and as a founder, I understand the challenges investors and entrepreneurs face. This role gives me the opportunity to help address those gaps, while connecting people and ideas that can accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship across Indiana."

Mahmood’s career spans 20 years in finance leadership roles across consulting, software, and manufacturing sectors. Her experience encompasses extensive work in global finance, pricing strategy, economic analysis, scaling operations and leading multiple strategic initiatives. Her data-centric, visionary approach to leadership is matched by an innate warmth and collaborative energy, making her a natural connector of people, capital and ideas.

A graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor's in Finance and Accounting, Mahmood also holds both an MBA and a Master of Science in Finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. She is an alumna and advisory board member of the Tobias Fellows Program, a distinguished leadership program focused on ethical and effective executive leadership.

"Almera's combination of financial rigor, entrepreneurial empathy and strategic vision makes her the right leader for the Club at this stage of growth," said Chelsea Linder, vice president of the Venture Club Board and vice president of innovation and entrepreneurship at TechPoint. "We are excited to see how her leadership expands our reach and sharpens our impact in Indiana's entrepreneurial landscape."

Mahmood steps into the role at a pivotal time for the Venture Club as it continues to build bridges between founders, funders and the communities they serve.
