Steven R. Gerrish is the Founder/Managing Partner of Apex One Equity, LLC. Apex is an early seed stage fund started in 2008 that starts new companies and tries to help provide a 18-24 month fiscal runway for their early success. Apex typically brings in original management teams to partner with Inventors to form the new entities and provides early structure and Intellectual Capital management guidance. Apex currently has six portfolio companies they are fostering on which Steve serves on the Board of Directors. These include Bats, LLC., Nanovis, LLC., P3, LLC., Knowrtal, LLC, and Genomic Guidance, LLC.

Prior to forming Apex, Steven Gerrish was Director of Business Development at Purdue Research Foundation. His role was to accelerate the development of new startups with rapid growth opportunities surrounding Purdue University developed technologies. His Technology Road Shows and Businessmaker process were part of the reason Purdue Research Foundation won the Technology Commercialization award nationally in 2005.

In the last four years Steve had been Purdue Research Foundation’s lead in selling three startup companies for over 41 million dollars. He has cofounded and or helped grow 17 startups to over 146 million dollars in market value during a three year period.

During that period he helped raise over 39 million dollars in private equity for their growth. He also managed the Trask Fund for internal early seed investments for Purdue Research Foundation.

He guest lectures about early stage venture investing for start ups from University based technologies.
