ParaPRO LLC is a Specialty Pharmaceutical company dedicated to developing and commercializing environmentally friendly, proprietary products in the human health arena.

ParaPRO licensed the global rights to the active ingredient “Spinosad” from Eli Lilly and Company in 2002 for the treatment of human lice. ParaPRO’s first Spinosad containing product, a treatment for pediculosis capitis (head lice), has completed human clinical trials and is currently under review by the FDA. ParaPRO anticipates an FDA response to its new drug application before the end of 2009. Upon approval the product, tentatively branded NatrOVA®, will be available by prescription and will be launched in 2010.

ParaPRO received a 21 Fund Grant of $2.1 Million from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) to partially pay for its phase III clinical trials on the compound in 2007. The grant allowed ParaPRO to run two studies simultaneously and dramatically shortened the time needed to complete the trials and the FDA application.

ParaPRO was honored to have its human clinical trial data published in the September on-line Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) which concluded that the efficacy of the Spinosad medication was statistically superior to the current AAP recommended head lice treatment.
